The Saline County Library
Benton, AR 72015
Serving Saline County in Arkansas, this library dates back to 1931. It was first located on the second floor of the Walton building on Market Street in downtown Benton before moving to its second location next to city hall in 1936. It moved a third time in 1946 to the former office building of Dr. Dewell Gann on Market Street, but it was too small. The library finally moved to its current location in 1967, in the old Palace Theater building. Many believe the library is haunted from the days of it being a theater. Some eerie reports surrounding the library include the sound of phantom footsteps, books falling from the shelves, and paperback carousels rotating on their own. So, if you're looking for a good book and some paranormal activity, The Saline County Library might just deliver!
